The professional poker player, John Tabatabai has been added to the group of top class poker players, Team Betfair of the UK based online gambling operator Betfair. At present, this 23 year Tabatabai is the latest star to join the famous Betfair team which boasts of members like Sorel Mizzi and Annette Obrestad.

Tabatabai was originally from Cardiff, but now lives in London. His first love was actually chess, where he had competed in the world championship events. It was when he was in university that he had developed, and turned his interest to playing poker.

It was when Tabatabai had managed to defeat his fellow Betfair sponsored professional, Obrestad during the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) 2007 that he had first hit the headlines and gained international recognition.

After this, he has managed to prove his worth by winning the All Africa Poker Tournament. According to the Director of Poker in Betfair, Stubbs, John is an aggressive poker player who plays with strategy. This is very refreshing to see in the online casino world.

Though John had ended just short in the 2007 WSOPE, he had managed to win in South Africa to prove his mettle. And like the youth of today, John has been making things happen, which is what Betfair wants from him.

According to Stubbs, Tabatabai will be playing for the Team Betfair during the World Series of Poker tournament that is scheduled to be held in Las Vegas, Nevada, during the month of July.
